We will be Remembering Scott "Toots" Tuttila at the Doubleheader games on Friday, February 11th in Ishpeming. We are asking fans to purchase shirts in his remembrance and wear them to the games. The shirts are $20 with $5 going back to each school's Booster Clubs. Toots was a super fan of the Negaunee Miners and Ishpeming Hematites. The link to order shirts is below and will be "live" until January 31st. The shirts will be dropped off at each school for pick up. You are able to buy a white shirt with the logo in either Navy Blue to represent the Miners or Royal blue to represent the Hematites. ![]()

Scott Tuttila was an incredible supporter of both Ishpeming & Negaunee athletics. He was honored at our home basketball game last Friday vs Ishpeming. He will truly be missed.
January is School Board Recognition Month. In another year full of challenges for public education, our school board members persevered through the adversity of 2021 to provide the best possible education for our students. School board members represent the views and priorities of their community in the complex system of maintaining and running a district’s public schools. They also reinforce the principle of local control over public education, which is an important, highly valued aspect of education in Michigan. Too often, the efforts of school board members go unrecognized.![]()

Even though we are making a special effort during January to show appreciation for our school board members, we recognize their contributions reflect a year-round effort on their part. No matter what challenges lie ahead for our district in 2022, our school board members will continue to govern to improve student achievement and provide exceptional education for all our community’s children.![]()

The men and women serving Negaunee Public Schools are Fae Collins, Dave Paananen, Virginia Paulson, Martin Saari, Todd Saunders, Pat Thomson and Greg Toutant. ![]()

We would also like to pay respect to former member Paul Maino who passed away last month. Paul served on our school board for the past three years and his contributions are greatly appreciated. His history of our town and great sense of humor will be missed.
