PRESCHOOL SCREENING
AMCAB Head Start personnel and the Negaunee Early Childhood staff are conducting a free preschool developmental screening. Screening is focused on children who will be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2011. Children who will be 3 years old by December 1, 2011, should also be screened if there is reason to suspect a developmental delay. Screening allows parents to:
- Get meaningful information about their child’s development and school readiness
- Explore eligibility for Head Start and School Readiness Program
- Explore eligibility for Special Education Preschool provided by the Negaunee school district.
Preschool screening will take place at Lakeview Elementary School in the Preschool Center (Birch Street entrance near the gym). Screening dates are Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29. The process will take about an hour. To make an appointment, please call AMCAB at 228-6522 or 1-800-562-9762.
