Negaunee Public Schools need your help. The financing of K-12 education in Michigan is trouble. Our legislators have to come up with funding to offset the $165 per pupil cut from this year and the projected additional cut of $268 in the 2010-11 SY. We need parents and grandparents to contact our legislative leaders to convince them to make changes in the way in which schools are financed.
I know it’s frustrating to talk with legislators who don’t seem to be responsive, but know that the cumulative effort of all your actions makes a difference. In fact, it’s essential for both the short- and long-term.
Please make the effort to contact the legislative leaders listed below and ask them to fund K-12 education so our children will have the education necessary to insure their future in Michigan and the nation. We keep hearing about the need for an educated workforce in today’s economy, yet they fail to provide the funding necessary for this education.
